How to Make Nitro Cold Brew Coffee
Preparation: You will need about 4 to 4.5 liters of fully filtered "Cold Brew Coffee" (leave a small empty space in the keg to allow for gas expansion).
Instructions:
Fill & Assemble: Pour the prepared Cold Brew into the WAS Mini Keg 5L. Attach the silicone dip tube to the bottom of the keg head, then screw the keg head assembly tightly onto the mouth of the keg.
Pressurize (N2 / N2O):
Insert a pure nitrogen (or N2O) gas cartridge into the gas holder/regulator.
Connect the regulator to the gas-in valve on the keg head. Adjust the pressure to 20-30 PSI. You will hear a hissing sound as the gas enters the keg. (Recommendation: Use 1-2 gas cartridges per 4-4.5 liters of coffee, depending on the cartridge specifications).
Shake well: Gently shake the keg (up-and-down or side-to-side) for about 30-60 seconds to fully dissolve the gas into the coffee.
Chill (Crucial Step): Place the keg in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours (overnight is highly recommended). Cold temperatures help the gas infuse better with the liquid, resulting in a finer and longer-lasting foam.
Ready to Serve: Place a glass under the tap, tilt it slightly, and pull the handle fully forward to pour. Enjoy the velvety crema and incredibly smooth taste immediately!
